Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity Intermediate Care unit serving adult and geriatric populations, including lower-level ICU overflow patients
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:3, with potential for adjusted ratios when caring for lower-acuity or overflow Med/Surg and Telemetry patients
- Float to the ICU as needed based on unit census and staffing requirements
- Float within specialty and to lower-acuity units as operationally required; travelers are first to float
- Adhere to all compliance onboarding requirements, including completing labs within 72 hours of contract signing and submitting compliance documents no later than 5 days prior to start date
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in Maryland or a valid Compact RN license at time of submission
- BLS certification – American Heart Association (AHA) only
- ACLS certification – American Heart Association (AHA) only
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- CPI certification required – The Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; first-time travelers accepted with strong IMC or ICU-level experience
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (permanent address must be 50+ miles from facility)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in an Intermediate Care or ICU setting with high-acuity patient populations
- Comfort with floating across acuity levels, including Med/Surg and Telemetry units
- Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
