Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Intermediate Care unit serving adult and geriatric populations
- Manage a patient ratio of 1:3, including lower acuity overflow Medical/Surgical and Telemetry patients as needed
- Monitor and care for lower-level ICU patients within the IMC setting
- Float to the ICU unit as required; candidates must be comfortable floating within scope with no restrictions
- Adhere to all unit scheduling requirements including every other weekend and holidays as they fall
- Maintain compliance with all required certifications including RN MD State License, BLS (AHA only), ACLS (AHA only), NIH Stroke Scale, and CPI
Required Qualifications
- Active Maryland RN license or active Compact RN license at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of IMC or ICU-level nursing experience required; first-time travelers with strong IMC/ICU backgrounds will be considered
- BLS certification – American Heart Association only
- ACLS certification – American Heart Association only
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- CPI certification required – The Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (permanent address); locals are not accepted unless explicitly stated
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in an IMC or ICU setting
- Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations in high-acuity environments
- Comfort with floating to ICU and Medical/Surgical or Telemetry units as needed
