Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in an intensive care unit setting with a patient population ranging from adults to geriatrics
Manage common ICU diagnoses including sepsis, pneumonia, MSOF, neuro/CVA, cardiac/pulmonary, renal, and surgical conditions
Assist with and support special procedures including bronchoscopies, PEG placements, tracheostomies, and surgical cases
Maintain a standard nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, with the possibility of up to 1:3 for lower-acuity patients
Float within specialty and to lower-acuity units as needed; travelers are typically first to float
Adhere to holiday and weekend scheduling requirements as assigned
Required Qualifications
Active Maryland RN license or valid Compact RN license at time of submission
Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required; first-time travelers accepted
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
NIH Stroke Scale certification required
CPI certification required (Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor)
Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility address (locals under 50 miles are not accepted unless explicitly stated)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with tracheostomy care, bronchoscopy assistance, and surgical ICU patients
Familiarity with travel nursing compliance processes and onboarding requirements
Comfort with floating within scope and adapting to varying unit needs without scheduling restrictions
