Key Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and evaluate critically ill adult patients requiring intensive monitoring and advanced medical interventions.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and specialized treatments safely and accurately.
- Operate and monitor advanced life-support equipment including ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, and CRRT equipment as applicable.
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient status, including participation in Code Blue events.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and ancillary staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge planning, while maintaining infection prevention standards and compliance with facility policies.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or a valid compact license.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience required for travel submissions.
- Prior travel nursing experience required; local candidates will not be considered.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for ventilated and hemodynamically unstable patients, including management of arterial lines, central venous catheters, and vasopressor/titratable drips.
- Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring, sepsis management, sedation and pain management, and critical care documentation.
- Familiarity with cardiac monitoring and rapid sequence response protocols.
