Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care in Federal Way, WA

Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed ICU at a 1:2 ICU ratio or 1:3 stepdown ratio, managing a wide range of complex diagnoses including sepsis, respiratory failure, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, GI bleed, renal failure with hemodialysis and CRRT, and post-stroke TPA infusion. Perform and support advanced ICU interventions including targeted temperature management, manual proning of intubated patients, and post-cardiac catheterization and PCI care (radial and groin approaches).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed ICU at a 1:2 ICU ratio or 1:3 stepdown ratio, managing a wide range of complex diagnoses including sepsis, respiratory failure, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, GI bleed, renal failure with hemodialysis and CRRT, and post-stroke TPA infusion
• Titrate vasoactive and critical care drips including Levophed, propofol, heparin, vasopressin, insulin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, dexmedetomidine, and others per physician orders
• Perform and support advanced ICU interventions including targeted temperature management, manual proning of intubated patients, and post-cardiac catheterization and PCI care (radial and groin approaches)
• Verify telemetry strips in collaboration with on-unit monitor technicians
• Float in rotation with staff to other departments within acute care and the ER transition area as needed; ICU nurse assignment maximum of 3 patients when floating
• Participate in department orientation including educator-led training, module work, and up to 2 days of unit-based orientation; EPIC training provided if applicable

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum of 1–2 years of general Medical ICU experience
• Experience with sepsis management, targeted temperature management, and manual proning of intubated patients
• Proficiency titrating critical care drips in an ICU setting

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with post-cardiac catheterization and PCI care via both radial and groin approaches
• Experience managing post-TPA infusion care for stroke patients
• Familiarity with CRRT and hemodialysis in the ICU setting
• Prior experience with EPIC electronic health records
