Key Responsibilities Provide routine and complex nursing care to high-acuity critical care patients with multiple comorbidities and continuous drip management utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Support recovery of post cardiothoracic surgery patients fresh from the OR, including management of advanced cardiac support devices such as IMPELLA and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump.
Provide routine and complex nursing care to high-acuity critical care patients with multiple comorbidities and continuous drip management utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Support recovery of post cardiothoracic surgery patients fresh from the OR, including management of advanced cardiac support devices such as IMPELLA and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump.
Operate and monitor therapeutic equipment including Arctic Sun temperature management and TABLO XT/CRRT renal replacement therapy.
Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocols; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided; assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
Required Qualifications
Active RN license in the state of Texas or a valid compact RN license.
Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only).
Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association only).
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Critical Care nursing setting.
Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience with post cardiothoracic surgical recovery, IMPELLA, Balloon Pump, Arctic Sun, and CRRT/TABLO XT.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Previous experience with Epic electronic health records system.
Experience managing high-acuity patients with multiple comorbidities and complex drip titration.
