Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to cardiac and medical intensive care patients, including management of advanced cardiac devices such as LVAD, Impella, and IABP
Monitor and manage patients on ventilators, CRRT, invasive lines, and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and respond to changes in patient cardiac status
Care for pre- and post-cardiac catheterization and intervention patients, including sheath removal
Support post-cardiac surgery patients (not directly from the OR) and step-down overflow as needed
Maintain a 2:1 patient ratio in a high-acuity ICU environment
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Cardiac ICU setting (CCU, CVICU, or Cardiopulmonary ICU strongly required)
Current ACLS and BLS certifications
NIH Stroke Scale certification
Demonstrated competency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Minimum 1 year of recent experience with EPIC EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
Hands-on experience with advanced cardiac devices including Impella, IABP, LVAD, and temporary ventricular pacing (TVP)
Experience with CRRT and management of invasive hemodynamic monitoring
Background in pre- and post-cardiac surgery patient care
