Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 36-bed ICU setting with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Manage and titrate drips including vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, analgesics, metabolic, and specialized infusions
- Care for patients presenting with diagnoses such as abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, and extremity pain
- Collaborate with in-house intensivists and respiratory therapy staff available 24/7, utilizing equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, and mechanical ventilators
- Perform NIHSS assessments as required by the unit
- Participate in self-scheduling and block scheduling, including weekend and holiday shift requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Colorado
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; driver's license must be submitted
- Must be available and present in-state for the full week of orientation
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in an ICU or critical care setting
- Experience titrating drips including vasopressors, inotropes, and sedatives
- Familiarity with respiratory therapy equipment including mechanical ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
