Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) setting during night shift hours
- Monitor and interpret ECG rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Administer and manage medications safely in accordance with facility protocols
- Participate in holiday coverage rotation, working at least every other holiday
- Complete required orientation assessments, including ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate, with an acceptable passing score
- Adhere to all facility compliance requirements, including annual hands-on competency and required training modules
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 months of permanent employment experience in ICU or the specialty being applied for
- Active, permanent Ohio RN license or compact state license — must be in hand at time of submission; no pending licenses accepted
- Active BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross — must be in hand at time of submission
- Active ACLS certification — must be in hand at time of submission
- Active NIHSS certification — must be in hand at time of submission
- One professional reference required from a manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, supervisor, or director in the applicable specialty from an assignment worked within the past 12 months (co-worker references not accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ICU or MICU experience within a single facility or location
- Familiarity with ECG rhythm interpretation in a critical care environment
- Experience working in a large academic or high-acuity hospital setting
