Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, for patients with complex problems in an ICU setting
- Perform patient assessments that address physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs, and synthesize data to determine care priorities
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to develop, update, and communicate the plan of care
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing and apply healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of care
- Identify and address discharge planning needs, cultural and ethnic considerations, and patient/family education needs
- Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care practices
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA or ARC)
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
- Experience in an intensive care or critical care setting
