Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians to develop and evaluate individualized plans of care aimed at returning patients to optimal health
- Provide direct bedside nursing care and carry out medical orders in an ICU setting
- Delegate and coordinate nursing care tasks and assignments for ancillary personnel, including Nurse Assistants and Patient Care Associates
- Integrate evidence-based knowledge into practice and facilitate participation in patient care conferences
- Identify and communicate patients' ongoing and discharge/transfer teaching needs with appropriate resource persons
- Function as a team leader to ensure proper patient placement, delegation of assignments, and preceptorship of new staff and students
Required Qualifications
- Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Must be comfortable floating to the Emergency Department and Step-Down unit
- BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required — documentation must be provided
- Must live more than 35 miles from the facility to be eligible at standard travel rates
Preferred Experience / Skills
- TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, or SCRN certification (documentation required if held)
- Prior travel nursing experience
- Neurosurgical experience
- Open heart experience
