Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians to develop and evaluate individualized patient care plans aimed at returning patients to optimal health
- Provide direct bedside nursing care and carry out medical orders in an ICU setting with ratios of 1:2 (or 1:1 for special populations)
- Delegate and coordinate nursing care tasks to ancillary staff including Nurse Assistants and Patient Care Associates
- Integrate evidence-based knowledge into practice and facilitate patient care conferences and discharge/transfer planning
- Communicate relevant patient information effectively across the care team and serve as a team leader to ensure appropriate patient placement and assignment delegation
- Precept and mentor new employees and students while pursuing ongoing professional development
Required Qualifications
- Active Michigan RN license
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Must be comfortable floating to the Emergency Department and Step-Down unit
- BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required — documentation must be provided
- Must reside more than 35 miles from the facility to be eligible at standard travel rates
Preferred Experience / Skills
- TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, or SCRN certification (documentation required if held)
- Prior travel nursing experience
- Neurosurgical experience
- Open heart experience
