Contract | Days | 7p–7a, 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a combined ICU/Telemetry unit functioning at a PCU/Stepdown acuity level, with close 24/7 monitoring of seriously ill or recovering patients
- Manage a patient population that includes GI, DKA, chest pain, CHF, and pneumonia cases with minimal ventilator management
- Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and respond to changes in patient condition
- Float to Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry units based on census needs; may occasionally be asked to float to the ER
- Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams in a smaller, rural healthcare setting
Required Qualifications
- Active Louisiana RN license or multistate compact license
- BLS certification (AHA) required and must be on file at time of submission
- ACLS certification (AHA) required and must be on file at time of submission
- Minimum of 4–5 years of ICU experience
- Must be comfortable working in a split ICU/Telemetry unit with PCU/Stepdown-level acuity and floating to Medical-Surgical or ER as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a PCU, Stepdown, or Telemetry setting in addition to ICU background
- Familiarity with Medical-Surgical nursing to support float coverage
- Experience working in a rural or community hospital environment
