Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in a 38-bed mixed ICU serving medical, surgical, cardiac, and neurosurgery populations, including post-operative open-heart patients. Provide direct patient care in a 38-bed mixed ICU serving medical, surgical, cardiac, and neurosurgery populations, including post-operative open-heart patients
Manage and monitor patients on advanced support including VV and VA ECMO, intra-aortic balloon pump, Impella, and CRRT
Perform and assist with bedside procedures such as bronchoscopies, GI scopes, chest tube insertions, and arterial and central line insertions
Deliver airway care and perform frequent drip titrations in a high-acuity environment
Operate and document using Meditech EMR and unit equipment including Avea ventilators, GE monitors, Baxter IV pumps, and Maquet IABP
Maintain patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1 depending on acuity, working collaboratively within a charge-led team structure
Required Qualifications
Active RN license valid in the state of Colorado
Minimum 1 year of current ICU hospital experience
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience with Meditech EMR
CVICU or CTICU experience, specifically care of the immediate post-operative open-heart surgery patient
