    Travel RN – Medical ICU (MICU)

    Location

    Alexandria, Louisiana

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend | Projected Start: July 6, 2026

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide total patient care in a 26-bed Medical ICU at a 2:1 patient ratio, including management of critically ill and COVID-19 patients
    • Operate and monitor advanced equipment including ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, balloon pumps, and ventriculostomy drains
    • Perform and assist with unit procedures including intubations, cardioversions, IABP management, CRRT, ventriculostomy drain management, and patient proning
    • Document patient care using Meditech EBCD (Evidence Based Clinical Documentation) and utilize iMobile technology
    • Conduct hourly rounding, bedside hand-off reporting, and complete care boards during shift transitions using AIDET communication standards
    • Float to Medical-Surgical or other Intensive Care Units within the facility as needed per staffing requirements
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • Minimum 1 year of ICU experience
    • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
    • Proficient in ventilator management and critical care drip administration
    • Strong assessment skills with working knowledge of cardiac, neurological, and respiratory systems
    • Willingness and ability to care for COVID-19 patients, including proper donning and doffing of PPE (masks, face shields, goggles, PAPRs, hoods)
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification
    • Experience with CRRT and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) management
    • Familiarity with Meditech or similar electronic documentation systems
