    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM) | Rotating days/nights or straight nights available | Every other weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) required with holiday rotation | No call requirement

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide individualized nursing care for critically ill patients ranging from adolescent (16+) through geriatric populations in a medical/surgical critical care setting
    • Perform comprehensive patient assessments using strong critical thinking skills to analyze data and respond appropriately to changing or emergent situations
    • Interpret and respond to hemodynamic monitoring results; anticipate and manage patient complications, deterioration, and crisis situations
    • Operate unit equipment including EPIC One Chart, PLUM IV smart pumps, central lines, arterial lines, ventilators, and IABP
    • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members; delegate and supervise unlicensed personnel as appropriate
    • May float to Med/Surg when critical care census is low; may be asked to supervise nursing students assigned to the unit
    Required Qualifications
    • Active South Dakota RN license or multistate compact RN license required
    • BLS and ACLS certification required
    • Must be self-directed with effective communication skills to collaborate, negotiate, and resolve conflicts with peers, physicians, and patients/families
    • Ability to utilize technology to enhance quality patient care
    • Must live within 80 miles of the facility to be eligible for local placement consideration
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Minimum 2 years of CCU/critical care experience preferred
    • Prior Med/Surg or Emergency Department experience a plus
    • CCRN and/or TNCC certification preferred
