### Exciting Opportunity for an RN in the Medical ICU!
**Job Description:**
- **Location:** Alexandria, Louisiana
- **Unit Name:** Medical ICU
- **Bed Capacity:** 26 beds
- **Patient Ratios:** 2:1
**Unit Specifics:**
- Dynamic team environment with RNs and Unit Secretary/COVID Runner.
- State-of-the-art equipment including ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, balloon pumps, and more.
- Utilization of iMobile technology for improved patient care.
- Comprehensive PPE protocols to ensure safety while caring for COVID-19 patients.
**Documentation System:**
- Meditech using Evidence Based Clinical Documentation (EBCD).
**Scheduling Requirements:**
- Twelve-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, every other weekend.
- Holiday requirements in place.
**Floating Policy:**
- Nursing staff may float to other Medical-Surgical Units, with priority for Intensive Care Units.
**Patient Experience Focus:**
- Engage in hourly rounding and bedside hand-off reporting.
- Complete “My Care Board” during hand-off and employ AIDET for compassionate care.

**Hiring Profile:**
- **Must-Haves:**
- Willingness to care for COVID-19 patients.
- ICU experience with a positive attitude.
- Team player with strong communication skills.
- **Advanced Skills Required:**
- Ventilator management and critical care drip knowledge.
- Strong assessment skills with an understanding of cardiac, neuro, and respiratory systems.
- Proficient in proper use of PPE.
**Procedures Performed on Unit:**
- Intubations, cardioversions, ventriculostomy drain placement, IABP management, CRRT, and proning.
**Certifications Required:**
- ACLS and BLS; TNCC certification is a plus.
**Dress Code:**
- Ceil blue scrubs with optional white or ceil blue scrub jacket.
- Green surgery scrubs provided for work with COVID patients.
