This unit operates at a stepdown level within the critical care division. It manages fresh tracheostomies, levophed, some stable intubations, mild sedation, and DKA. The nurse will work 12-hour night shifts. Every other weekend and holiday shifts will be required based on unit needs. Staffing is assessed every four hours. Travelers may be floated up to three times per shift. This position requires proficiency in handling tracheostomies, endotracheal tubes, and drips.
