Must-Have:
Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care.
Candidates must pass a skills exam during orientation.
RNs must be able to titrate drips.
RNs are required to read, interpret, and document telemetry strips.
A valid driver’s license is required.
Every other weekend commitment is required.
Minimum of two holiday shifts are required during the contract duration.
Description:
The unit consists of 33 beds with an average daily census of 16.
Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:2-3 for adults.
Common diagnoses include trauma, cardiac cases, overdose, substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress.
RNs will assist with 1:1 patient care based on census and volume.
Shifts run from 0630 to 1830 and 1830 to 0630.
Self-scheduling is available for core staff.
Floating to other units may occur, typically to progressive care or medical-surgical units.
The charting system in use is EPIC.
RNs must manage various respiratory equipment, including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow.
Additional time off requests are limited to seven days upfront during the contract period.
Cancellations of up to four shifts may occur during a 13-week assignment.
