Join Our Dynamic Cardiac Telemetry Team!** **Job Description:** - **Location:** Kansas City, MO - **Unit Name:** 4 North Cardiac Telemetry - **Shift:** 7 AM - 7 PM - **Hours:** 48 hours Guaranteed preferred - **Start Date:** 12/14 **Unit Specifics:** - **Number of Beds:** 29 - **Patient Ratios:** 1:4 - **Staffing Description:** Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and PCTs available - **Equipment:** - Alaris IV Pumps - SCD machines - Hill Rom beds - Dinamap in each room - Welch Allen Vital Machines - Wound Vacs - Temporary Pacemakers - Telemetry monitor - EKG Machine - Bladder Scanner - Doppler - Imobile for communication - **Documentation System:** Meditech - **Scheduling Requirements:** Must work full-time hours, including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period - **Floating Policy:** Contract Nurses may float to areas of demonstrated competency - **Patient Experience Goals:** - Treat every patient with courtesy and respect - Be responsive to call lights - Engage with patients by using their preferred names - Involve patients in bedside shift reports - Educate patients on how to use the phone to contact nurses directly - Always ask if there’s anything else you can do before leaving the room **Hiring Profile:** - **Required Skill Set:** - Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU experience - Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips - **Advanced Skills Needed:** - Experience with post-cardiac procedural care (Ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post Op Day 1 Open Heart, permanent Pacemaker placements) - Ability to administer and titrate IV medications (e.g., insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, Amiodarone) - **Procedures Performed on Unit:** - IV insertions - NGT placement and maintenance - Chest Tube maintenance - Temporary Pacemakers - Foley insertions - **Certifications Required:** - ACLS - BLS - NIHSS **Dress Code:** - Navy Blue scrubs. **Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol):** At CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
