Job Opportunity – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) RN – Maryland
Start Date: October 5, 2026
Location: Hagerstown, Maryland
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Four 12-hour shifts per week; 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio; every other weekend required; floating to IMC as needed; 36 guaranteed hours per week
Highlights:
- Diverse patient population including trauma, cardiovascular, stroke, and neuro cases
- Comprehensive ICU experience with advanced equipment including CRRT, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and intraventricular drains (EVDs)
- Epic EMR system utilized for charting and documentation
- 24-hour orientation period with robust interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- 18-patient daily census in a 24-bed unit with medical, surgical, trauma, cardiovascular, stroke, and neuro patient mix
- One pre-approved time-off request available during assignment
Requirements:
- Active RN license in Maryland (pending licenses accepted)
- Minimum 3 years of ICU nursing experience preferred (strong candidates with 2+ years will be considered)
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with 1:2 patient ratios in acute care settings
- Proficiency in critical care skills including ventilator management, arterial line management, vasoactive drip titration, and care of complex cardiovascular and neurological patients
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (no exemptions)
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
