Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Valid nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must have 1 year of experience. Must be a good team player. First-time travelers are welcome. Description: Department: Intensive Care Unit. The unit has 10 beds. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:2. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. Common diagnoses include heart failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, and strokes. Vented patients and post-surgical patients may be present in this unit. Experience with titrating drips is required. Common titratable or set-rate drips include Propofol, Levophed, and Dobutamine. A charge nurse does not take patients on each shift. An administrative support staff member is on site 24/7. Crisis nurses are available 24/7. A certified nursing assistant is present on each shift. Clientists are on site 24/7. Intensivists are available via telehealth 24/7. Respiratory therapists are present in the Intensive Care Unit 24/7. Telemetry technicians are not present, and registered nurses are required to read strips. Shifts are scheduled by the unit scheduler. Shifts can be grouped together or blocked. Weekend requirements will be as needed. Holiday requirements will depend on need. There is no call or standby requirement. Nurses may float to other units. Scrub colors must be clean and professional. The facility has a radius rule of 50 miles.
