Job Summary

Join a dedicated team as an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse in Waimea, Hawaii. This critical role involves coordinating and delivering specialized, age-appropriate care to a diverse patient population including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric individuals within a 4-bed ICU/CCU setting. The unit primarily serves patients requiring intensive care for surgical recovery or serious respiratory and/or cardiac conditions.

The successful candidate will manage a patient ratio of 1:2, with additional nursing support provided for high-acuity cases, such as patients requiring ventilator support. This position demands a commitment to providing high-quality, individualized care in a dynamic environment, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU/CCU.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized, age-appropriate care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.
  • Provide specialized care for patients recovering from surgery or those with serious respiratory and/or cardiac conditions.
  • Maintain a patient ratio of 1:2, utilizing clinical judgment to manage patient acuity and collaborate with the team for additional support when necessary.
  • Perform after-hours Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) recovery duties as required.
  • Float to other units such as Obstetrics (OB), Medical-Surgical (MS), PACU, and Emergency Room (ER) to assist, based on individual competency level.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • Must be open to working any shift (day, evening, or night) without exception.
  • Commitment to working 80 hours every two weeks, without exception.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Emergency Room (ER) experience.
