Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) / Critical Care (CCU)
Job Summary
Join a dedicated team at a smaller, independent community hospital in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, situated conveniently between Denver and Grand Junction. This 13-week travel assignment offers an opportunity to provide high-level critical care to local community members, ensuring they receive exceptional healing close to home.
The primary focus of this role is within the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), with an expectation to float and provide support to the Critical Care Unit (CCU) as needed. The facility features two Cath Labs, including a state-of-the-art Hybrid Cath Lab, supporting a diverse patient population requiring advanced cardiac and critical care interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, compassionate nursing care to critically ill patients in the CVICU, including those post-cardiac surgery (Day 0).
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in both CVICU and CCU settings.
- Monitor and manage complex cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic parameters, and advanced life support equipment.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Participate in unit-specific quality improvement initiatives and maintain accurate electronic health records.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of recent Registered Nurse experience in a Critical Care setting.
- Demonstrated strong CVICU skills, including experience with Day 0 post-cardiac surgery patients.

Shift Details
- Shift Type: Nights (NOC)
- Shift Duration: 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Days per Week: 3
- Weekend Rotation: Required
- Call Requirements: Must agree to be in the call rotation and take 1 call shift per 2-week period; this may replace guaranteed hours in that week if requested due to staffing needs.

Licensing Requirements
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
