Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current active state license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Strong cardiac knowledge required Description: Can sign for 36 or 48 hours per week. Patient ratio is 1:2. First-timers are not accepted. Every other weekend availability is required. Skills required include the management of multiple organ dysfunction/failure, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and Ventilator management. Additional skills include obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG, CVP monitoring, and blood product administration. Other necessary competencies consist of central line management and the ability to provide care for ventilated patients. Experience in respiratory failure, infection prevention, and isolation precautions is mandatory. The unit covers various patient diagnoses including respiratory failure, acute chest pain, and sepsis. Staff will float within service line to meet facility needs. Weekly census includes adult and geriatric patient age groups. This position requires a collaborative approach with interdisciplinary services. Daily responsibilities may include assisting with management for end-of-life patients and organ donation processes. All candidates must be able to handle complex clinical situations in critical care settings. Compliance with RTO policy is required. The candidate must have a strong commitment to patient care and safety.
