Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU, managing high-acuity diagnoses including Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, DKA, GI Bleed, Cardiogenic Shock, and Substance Abuse/Overdose
  • Maintain a 1:2 or 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in the ICU setting, adjusting to 1:4 or 1:5 when floating to Medical/Surgical units
  • Float to Medical/Surgical units as needed, caring for up to 4-5 patients per assignment
  • Read and interpret telemetry strips as required for both ICU and float assignments
  • Collaborate with attending physicians and residents who are present in the ICU 24 hours per day
  • Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
Required Qualifications
  • Active Massachusetts RN License required
  • AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of continuous adult ICU experience, preferably in a MICU setting
  • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
  • Willingness and ability to float to Medical/Surgical units as assigned
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience in a Level III Trauma Center or large community hospital environment
  • Familiarity with EPIC EMR charting system
  • Experience managing patients with complex psychiatric conditions or substance abuse/overdose presentations
