Candidates must have experience with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies.
Candidates must have trauma care experience.
Candidates must have 2-3 years in specialty.
Previous travel experience preferred.
Travelers must be open to working hard and asking for help when needed.
Description:
Telemetry, Labor & Delivery, Emergency, and Critical Care RNs will take a proctored Dysrhythmia Test onsite.
This is a PASS/FAIL test.
Holiday requests will be considered, but cannot be guaranteed.
The ICU has 30 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 to 1-2.
Ninety percent of the time, the ratio will be 1 to 2.
Candidates must be willing and able to titrate drips including vasopressors and sedation.
Charge nurse does not take patient assignments and is available 24/7.
House supervisor is also available 24/7.
Respiratory Therapy is available in the ICU 24/7.
Unit Tech is available for support but provides more secretary work than bedside work.
Registered Nurses must interpret telemetry strips, while a Unit Secretary runs the strips.
Self-scheduling is not finalized until manager reviews.
Schedules are made about six weeks in advance.
Travelers are the first to be moved if necessary.
Every other weekend and holiday requirements are expected, with specifics addressed during the scheduling process.
Travelers can float to other units as needed.
The unit is fast-paced, and candidates must be able to get along well with others.
The facility has a robust interventional radiology program and is traveler-friendly.
The charting system used is Cerner.
COVID vaccine certification is required.
NIHSS certification is preferred.
