Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care - $2,623 to $2,915 per week in Cincinnati Region, OH

RN - ICU (Open Heart / Critical Care)

Location: Middletown, OH | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type: Contract (13 or 18 weeks available) | Nights, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend and holiday availability required

Key Responsibilities
Provide critical care nursing in a 16-bed ICU setting, managing patients at targeted ratios of 1:2 for critical care and 1:3 for intermediate-level patients.
Care for post-operative open heart surgery patients including CABG and valve post-op cases.
Operate and monitor advanced hemodynamic support devices including Impella and IABP.
Perform and manage CRRT, ventilator management, ICP monitoring, conscious sedation, and IV starts.
Read, interpret, and respond to cardiac rhythm strips and EKG telemetry.
Float within the facility or to nearby affiliated campuses based on census and skill set, including high-risk respiratory and COVID units, as directed.

Required Qualifications
Valid Ohio Registered Nurse license, or any active state RN license or compact license accepted for submission; candidates with any past license disciplinary action will not be accepted.
Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Minimum 2 years of RN experience with demonstrated open heart experience (CABG, valve post-op, Impella, IABP, CRRT).
Must pass an online EKG/dysrhythmia competency assessment within 72 hours of signing the contract.
Epic EMR experience required.
Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible.

Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience in a Level III Trauma Center or similarly complex acute care environment.
Familiarity with hypothermia protocols post cardiac arrest, prone positioning, and 24-hour EEG monitoring.
Experience caring for neurological patients, including ischemic stroke patients receiving TPA.
Strong customer service orientation and comfort with family-centered care models.
