Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 3x12-Hour Shifts (Days/Nights – Based on Unit Needs)
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend (EOW) Required
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have a strong critical care background and be comfortable caring for high-acuity patients in a fast-paced Intensive Care Unit.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Previous travel/contract nursing experience required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Active RN license (state-specific requirements apply)
- Current AHA BLS certification (ACLS may be required per facility)
- Ability to work independently in a high-acuity critical care environment
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult patients.
- Perform patient assessments and continuously monitor patient conditions.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and critical care treatments.
- Operate and monitor ICU equipment, including ventilators, cardiac monitors, and infusion pumps.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Accurately document patient care using the EPIC EMR system.
- Respond effectively to medical emergencies and changes in patient condition.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery.
Scheduling Requirements
- Must be available to work 3 shifts per week.
- Every Other Weekend (EOW) is required.
- Any Requested Time Off (RTO) must still allow the traveler to complete all three scheduled shifts during the workweek.
- Must be flexible to work shifts based on unit needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
- Previous experience in Level I or Level II Trauma Centers preferred.
- Experience caring for ventilated and critically ill patients in a high-volume ICU environment.
