Ability to manage central lines, chronic/acute renal failure, continuous IV sedation, and stroke management
Experience in neuro intensive care and surgical intensive care
Description:
This position is for a registered nurse specializing in the intensive care unit.
The nurse will work nights with a minimum of 1.5 years' experience required.
The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:2.
The position may require floating to other units as needed.
Weekend shifts are required, with six weekend shifts per scheduling period.
The unit consists of 32 beds and primarily cares for adults.
Nurses will receive support from interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
Competitive candidates will possess skills in IV management, phlebotomy, and interpreting arterial blood gases.
This role involves a commitment to infection prevention and maintaining isolation precautions.
Travelers may experience brief orientation to the unit before taking on responsibilities.
Additional skills in starting and maintaining IVs, managing dysrhythmias, and administering procedural sedation are desirable.
Nurses will be expected to demonstrate adaptability and teamwork within the ICU environment.
