Description: Unit prescreens and auto-offer process. Manager has 24 hours to rescind offers. Candidates must provide two supervisor references from the last three years. Candidates may not have been directly employed by any associated facility in the last year. Holiday requests will be considered but not guaranteed. A dysphagia exam through Relias is required before acceptance. Must complete the dysphagia exam within 24 to 48 hours of offer acceptance. The exam is pass or fail, with two attempts allowed. A screenshot showing the number of attempts is required. If a candidate fails the exam on the second attempt, they will be disqualified. Expected to float to sister facilities as well as other specified units. ICU consists of an 8-bed layout. Common diagnoses include various medical ICU conditions. Ratios typically range from 1:1 to 1:2. Experience with EKG readings required. Face-to-face report is provided at bedside. Shifts entail self-scheduling but are balanced by management. Schedules are released four weeks in advance. Travelers may access their schedules online and make themselves available for extra shifts. Additional notes relevant to staff include rotating holiday schedules. Each traveler will undergo floor-specific orientation with a preceptor. Weekend shifts may be required every other weekend. Scrub color should be navy, with under shirts in navy, white, or black. Cancellation policy allows for up to four shift cancellations per 13-week assignment. The environment is conducive for a basic ICU RN traveler, with adjacent PACU.
