Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in critical care License: Active and current nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (TNCC preferred, not required) Must-Have: References must be from a direct supervisor (not a charge RN). Prior travel experience is required. First-time travelers are not accepted. Weekend requirements: every other weekend, travelers must be flexible. Description: The Registered Nurse will care for Cardiac ICU patients and overflow from other ICUs. Focus will be on cardiology. The nursing staff will manage a patient ratio of 1:2. Floating to other ICUs and borderline areas should be expected. Candidates should have experience in high volume, high acuity, teaching, and trauma environments. Charting is conducted using a specific electronic health record system. The daily census in the unit is approximately 16 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. End-of-life care and complex patient management will be part of the role. Candidates should be familiar with equipment and procedures related to critical care nursing. The nursing role requires strong clinical skills along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
