Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 2 years of critical care and prior travel experience required License: Compact license accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required; TNCC preferred but not required Must-Have: Experience in high volume, high acuity, teaching, and trauma facilities Description: References must be from a direct supervisor, not a charge RN. The nurse will care for cardiac ICU patients and overflow from other ICUs with a focus on cardiology. The nurse should be flexible with weekend requirements and able to accommodate unit needs. Experience in floating to other ICUs and border areas is expected. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:2. Candidates must have prior travel experience and cannot be first-timers. Special procedures and diagnoses will include a variety of cardiac and trauma cases. The nurse will be responsible for managing ventilated patients and administering care for complex conditions. Charting experience in Epic is required. Additional certifications and skills in critical care procedures are necessary. Daily census in the unit may vary. The facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching institution and a Level I trauma center. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and a rapid response team. Candidates must disclose any background checks if applicable. Two supervisory references are required upon submission.
