Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU serving a wide range of adult diagnoses including Substance Abuse/Overdose, Sepsis, DKA, GI Bleed, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, Renal Failure, and Cardiogenic Shock
• Maintain RN-to-patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1 for high-acuity ICU patients; ratios of 1:4 or 1:5 when floating to Med/Surg units
• Float to Medical/Surgical units as needed, managing up to 4-5 patients per assignment
• Read and interpret telemetry strips as required for both ICU and float assignments
• Document patient care accurately using the EPIC electronic medical records system
• Collaborate with attending physicians and residents who are present in the ICU 24 hours per day

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN License required
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of continuous adult ICU experience, preferably in a MICU setting
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Willingness and ability to float to Medical/Surgical units as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Level III Trauma Center or large community hospital setting
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR charting system
• Experience caring for patients with complex diagnoses such as Cardiogenic Shock, Respiratory Failure, or severe Psychiatric conditions
