The RN utilizes Jean Watson's Theory of Caring and Relationship-Based Care. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for all assigned patients. The RN makes determinations regarding patient progress toward goals. The RN utilizes a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient and interdisciplinary team. Care is provided according to the specific physiologic, developmental, and psychosocial needs of the patient. The RN supports the organization's mission, vision, and values. The RN acts competently by applying the nursing process based on scientific knowledge. The RN provides care consistent with the interdisciplinary plan of care. The RN assesses patient physical and psychosocial conditions on an ongoing basis. The RN formulates a nursing diagnosis through observation and interpretation of information. The RN collaborates with the client to create an appropriate care plan. The care plan ensures client safety, comfort, hygiene, and restorative measures. The RN performs essential nursing skills and explains health treatments to clients and families. The RN teaches clients and families how to manage their health needs. The RN evaluates the effectiveness of the care plan and modifies it as needed. The RN demonstrates knowledge and safe use of equipment, instrumentation, and medications. The RN delegates tasks to care team members and supervises the care provided. The RN acts as the client's advocate and initiates actions to improve health care. The RN provides culturally competent, age-appropriate, ethical care within legal standards. The RN coordinates patient care activities with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals. The RN utilizes effective communication skills for safe patient handoffs. The RN documents nursing care per hospital policies. The RN uses manual and automated information systems to improve efficiency. The RN is accountable for meeting unit and organizational goals related to patient satisfaction. The RN contributes to positive patient care experiences through interactions with patients and families. The RN assists in resolving complaints with the goal of immediate resolution. The RN investigates complaints and provides information to supervisory staff. The RN performs other assigned duties as necessary. The RN possesses proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills. The RN performs all physical duties of the job, which include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and fine motor skills. The RN completes annual organizational employment requirements.
