Job Opportunity – Critical Care ICU Registered Nurse – Pennsylvania

Start Date: October 2026

Location: Pennsylvania

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36-hour orientation period, patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 3:1, every other weekend and holiday required, no on-call shifts, floating required as part of Critical Care Float Pool

Highlights
  • Work in a Level I Trauma and teaching hospital environment providing critical care to adult cardiac surgery patients
  • Specialized post-operative care including AVR, MVR, CABG, and other cardiac surgical procedures
  • Experience with advanced equipment including SWAN catheters, continuous monitoring, mechanical devices, and ventricular assist devices
  • Epic charting system utilized throughout the facility
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and therapy services
  • 11-bed specialized cardiovascular ICU unit with robust clinical team support
Requirements
  • Active Pennsylvania RN license or compact license in hand at time of application
  • Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Critical Care Float Pool experience strongly preferred
  • Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma facility experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (required); NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC (preferred)
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records system required
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, IABP, conscious sedation, coronary artery bypass procedures, and ventricular assist devices
  • Competency in administering blood products, starting peripheral IVs, wound management, and code response
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
  • Ability to complete required compliance items including fingerprinting and clinical assessment exam
