Job Title: RN - ICU Profession: Nursing Specialty: Agency Staff RN Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse (RN) - State Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills Time management and organizational skills Ability to make quality, independent decisions Analytical and strong problem-solving skills Description: Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described by the professional standards. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. Upholds the standards of professional performance, including ethical practice, communication, collaboration, and quality of practice. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes in patient care. Assesses the overall needs of the patient and analyzes assessment data. Develops and implements an individualized interprofessional plan of care. Evaluates patient and family educational needs and employs appropriate teaching strategies. Initiates patient discharge planning during the initial patient contact. Ensures that required documentation is performed accurately and timely. Assumes an autonomous leadership role and delegates appropriately to unlicensed assistive personnel. Engages in activities related to professional development and continuously advances knowledge related to nursing practice. Participates in ongoing improvement activities that contribute to quality patient care. Actively participates in safety initiatives and completes safety-related competencies and requirements.
