Job Title: RN - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital ICU experience License: Current Registered Nurse license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital ICU experience. BLS, ACLS & NIH certifications required. Description: This position involves working in a 26-bed intensive care unit. The unit is staffed with 15 members including 13 RNs, 1 Charge Nurse, and 1 Patient Care Tech on the day shift. The night shift is similarly composed of 13 RNs, 1 Charge Nurse, and 1 Patient Care Tech. Patient ratios are 1:2. Type of equipment utilized includes balloon pumps, CRRT, and hypothermia units. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Typical procedures performed include heart catheterizations, balloon pump management, CRRT, hypothermia treatment, cardioversion, and central line insertions. All medication drips will be administered in accordance with established protocols. Ideal candidates should be driven, organized, and efficient. A positive attitude and engagement are essential for success in this role. Candidates with prior Meditech experience or experience traveling to large facility ICUs will be given preference.
