Key Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for ICU patients in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing
• Evaluates health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data
• Performs health teaching, health counseling, and executes delegated medical functions
• Provides therapy and treatment supportive and restorative to life and well-being, directly or indirectly through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching
• Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans, referring patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment
• Documents in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines; may be required to float to other departments based on business need

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (ASN minimum) is required
• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice is required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required
• ACLS, NRP, or PALS as appropriate for the unit or service is required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred
• Specialty certification appropriate for unit or service is preferred
