Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify patient condition, record and communicate deviations from normal, and ensure appropriate follow-up by relevant healthcare team members
  • Identify patient and family expectations and educational needs, communicate priorities, and initiate discharge planning
  • Oversee care of stroke and/or cardiac patients, ensuring Core Measures are in place unless contraindicated, and report patient concerns to the physician
  • Recognize and report abnormal diagnostic data, signs and symptoms of abuse per policy, and participate in purposeful nursing rounds incorporating the 7 Ps of rounding
  • Float between critical care units; possible float to lower acuity units based on census and need
  • May be placed on low census call; call-back minimum is 2 hours when called in
Required Qualifications
  • Active Minnesota RN License
  • BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
  • ACLS certification (AHA or ARC) - must be in hand at time of submission
  • NIHSS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of acute care experience within a critical care setting
  • Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • TNCC and/or CCRN certification preferred
  • Critical care experience within the past 3 years preferred
  • At least 1 prior travel assignment preferred
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
