Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with code blue response and familiarity with titration of drips Description: This position is for an ICU Registered Nurse providing care in a critical care setting. The unit consists of 8 ICU beds. Nurse to patient ratios are typically 1:2-3, with some patients being lower acuity. Common medical diagnoses include sepsis, general medical and surgical cases, stroke, DKA, pneumonia, and alcohol withdrawal. The ICU nurse is expected to manage code blue situations and lead cardiac arrests. Night shift nurses will have support from EICU. Experience in phlebotomy and travel nursing is preferred. Familiarity with Meditech is a plus. RNs are required to titrate a variety of drips, including Levo, Neo, Propofol, Fentanyl, Precedex, Insulin, and TNK. Nursing roles also include the responsibility for cardiac monitor strips. Weekend shifts are scheduled for every other weekend, with holiday rotations applicable. Full patient loads may require floating to MedSurg, Tele, or ER as needed. Professional scrubs can be any color.
