Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a combined 10-bed SCU/Telemetry unit encompassing both ICU and Telemetry patients, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3-5 depending on acuity
  • Manage patients on drips, ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy
  • Monitor patients using Phillips Cardiac Monitors; hard-wired ICU room monitors and telemetry packs are in use on the unit
  • Care for a diverse patient population including trauma, COPD, vented overdoses, surgical, bowel obstructions, and COVID patients
  • Document and chart using EPIC EMR
  • Participate in weekend shift rotation (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; nights cover Friday/Saturday) and integrate into the permanent staff holiday rotation
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license valid in West Virginia
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • PALS certification required
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (full vaccination: 2-dose Moderna or Pfizer series, or single-dose J&J); medical or religious exemption requests must be submitted for review and approval
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • NIHSS certification is a plus
  • Prior experience with ventilator management and critical care drips
  • Familiarity with Phillips Cardiac Monitoring systems
  • Experience working in a combined ICU/Telemetry or step-down unit environment
