Job Summary

Join a dedicated team as an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse at a 25-bed independent, nonprofit critical access hospital located in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. This role is integral to providing exceptional patient care within a four-bed open ICU setting.

The ICU RN is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients during their hospitalization. Care delivery is guided by AACN Standards, ensuring a professional and patient-centered approach tailored to each individual's age, physical ability, and intellectual development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct, comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
  • Coordinate and implement patient care plans in accordance with AACN Standards.
  • Assess, monitor, and evaluate patient conditions, adapting care as needed.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in delivering treatment and managing care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations.
  • Accurately read and interpret telemetry readings.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor while delivering patient care.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent critical care (ICU) experience.
  • Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and interpretation.
  • Ability to provide care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations.
