Job Opportunity – Critical Care Float Pool RN – Ohio

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Weekend nights (Friday/Saturday) plus 1 additional night shift per week | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 36 hours per week | Contract extends through January 2, 2027

Highlights:

  • Float to multiple intensive care units based on staffing needs and patient acuity, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, MICU, and NCCU
  • Work with a diverse patient population including transplant patients (kidney, liver, lung, heart) and complex critical care cases
  • Utilize EPIC charting system in a high-acuity academic medical environment
  • Float assignment based on unit needs of equivalent or lower acuity
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, and more
  • Travel nursing assignment with local candidates accepted at the same rate

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
  • Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Proficiency with EPIC charting system required
  • Demonstrated competency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and ventilator management
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
  • Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
  • Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
