Job Title: ICU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Must have active Illinois license to apply Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Floating required within scope to meet facility needs Description: Position in ICU. Average daily census is 10-12. First-timers accepted: No. Will work every other weekend. Must have prior experience with a patient ratio of 1:2-3. Charting system experience required. Experience with trauma care is preferred. Candidate must work 2 of the 3 major holidays. Unit Details: Patient demographics include adults. Daily census is 10-12 with 15 beds available. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Common patient diagnoses include sepsis, pneumonia, respiratory failure, and liver failure. Special procedures performed may include line placements and thoracentesis. Special equipment usage may include CRRT and Swan Ganz monitoring. Skills Required: Must be able to manage and care for ventilated patients. Experience in blood product administration and management of dysrhythmias is necessary. Able to interpret arterial blood gases and perform emergency medications. Must have proficiency in TPN and central line care. Experience with massive transfusion protocol and infection prevention is essential. Must have abilities in IV management and administering procedural sedation. Candidates should be capable of patient assessment and management of organ dysfunction.
