Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in critical care License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CCRN preferred Must-Have: Telemetry experience CERNER experience preferred Description: The ICU unit is seeking an experienced critical care registered nurse for a 12-week night contract. Candidates must have telemetry experience, BLS, and ACLS certifications. Medical patients treated include those with diagnoses such as alcohol withdrawal, acute respiratory distress, COPD, GI bleed, drug overdose, and COVID-19. Occasional surgical cases may involve VATS procedures. The nurse will manage patients with conditions requiring intensive monitoring and support. Skills required include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation administration. The unit has a total of 14 beds and maintains patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2. The ICU also functions as the code team and rapid response team. Intensivists are available during the day, while NPs cover the night shifts. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams. The daily census averages around 10 patients with various medical diagnoses.
