Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Float Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Critical Care License: Required Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS, OCN, TNCC preferred Description: ICU Float required. 1 year of CV ICU experience required. Floating to multiple ICUs including Trauma, Oncology, Cardiac, Heart and Vascular, Client, Medicine, and COVID. Strong, independent, experienced nurses needed to float between ICUs. If there are no ICU needs, nurses will float to inpatient floors as staff nurses. The nursing office staffs multiple units. Patient-to-nurse ratio is 2:1 in ICUs for all shifts. Nurses will float to inpatient floors when needed, with a maximum ratio of 1:3. They may also float to non-critical care units if census is low in ICU, and may be utilized as patient sitters if needed. Every other weekend requirement or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduled rotation; holiday rotation is also included. Preferred skills include: Swans-hemodynamic interpretation, IABP, Impella, ECMO, vasoactive drips, CRRT. BCLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications required. Chemo administration, CCRN, ONS, TNCC certifications preferred. Vent management, IV starting, telemetry, and conscious sedation experience required. Triage, ICP monitoring, PA line management, and Level 1 Trauma experience preferred. Minimum of 2 years ICU experience preferred. CRRT experience beneficial. Past electronic health record experience strongly preferred. Will not accept first-time travelers. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Floating will occur to multiple ICUs as necessary. Support services available include IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. Adolescents are rare but would be of adult size and weight (16-18 years of age). No need to screen candidates that do not have the adolescent age group on the checklist, only for awareness. Nurses will float to inpatient floors with the expectation of ratio management and potential assignment as patient sitters if necessary. Compliance requirements are established to ensure proper documentation and certifications are met.
