**Exciting RN Opportunity in Alaska!** **Job Description:** - **Position:** RN for the Step Down Unit (High Acuity Stepdown Unit) / Progressive Care - **Unit:** Medical Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) 634 - **Shift:** 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM - **Duration:** 13 Weeks - **Location:** Anchorage, AK **Unit Highlights:** - **Number of Beds:** 19 - **Staffing:** - Day Shift: 1 Charge RN & 6 RNs - Night Shift: 1 Charge RN & 6 RNs - **Patient Ratios:** 3:1 - **Equipment:** - Bedside monitors - Alaris IV pumps - Heated humidity high flow O2 - BiPap - Chest tubes - Tracheostomy - Kangaroo feeding pumps - Gastric tubes - Surgical drains - **EMR System:** EPIC **Candidate Requirements:** - **Required Experience:** - 1 year of step-down ICU/IMC/PCU experience - 1 year of telemetry/cardiac monitoring experience - **Preferred Skills:** - Experience with trach patients requiring continuous BiPap/long-term vent support - Proficiency with titratable drips such as: dopamine, dobutamine, nitro, cardene, ketamine, heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone - Experience with CIWA assessments and Alcohol/Drug withdrawal treatment **Typical Procedures on Unit:** - Emergent cardioversion - Procedures requiring moderate sedation will be performed in a procedural area **Ideal Candidate Traits:** - Positive and team-focused - Adaptable to quickly changing acuity - Thrives in a busy, fast-paced environment - Enjoys high throughput to accommodate rapid responses, ED admissions, and ICU transfers **Required Certifications:** - ACLS - BLS - NIH-SS **Floating Areas:** - Cardiac surgery IMC - Med-tele - Med-surg - Ortho-neuro **Dress Code:** - Scrub Color: Navy Blue **Unit Guidelines/Policies:** - Physical assessments, intake, and output must be completed every 4 hours - Hourly safety rounds - Every two-hour positioning and ADLs as indicated - Bedside handoff is mandatory **Weekends and On-Call:** - Every other weekend (alternatively 4 weekend shifts [Saturday/Sunday] per month) - Delayed start utilized rather than on-call shifts if census is low --- **Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol):** At CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
