Schedule: 3x12 night shifts per week; every other weekend required; no on-call
Highlights:
- Critical care environment with 1:1 to 1:2 patient ratios for optimal patient outcomes
- Cardiac Medical ICU specializing in acute MI, cardiogenic shock, heart failure, TAVR, and post-interventional procedures
- Epic EMR system utilized throughout the organization
- 36-hour orientation with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- Advanced equipment experience including IABP, Impella, CRRT, ventilators, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Float opportunities within the hospital system to expand clinical skills
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of submission)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA only)
- Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
- Competency with ventilator management
- Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor)
Skills & Competencies:
- Arterial line management and interpretation of arterial blood gases
- Central line care, PICC line management, and phlebotomy
- Blood product administration and IV insulin protocols
- BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula management
- Care of ventilated patients including ETT and NT suctioning
- Continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, obtaining 12-lead EKG
- Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Experience with specialized equipment including Impella, IABP, CRRT, and pulmonary artery line monitoring
