### Exciting Opportunity for a Travel RN - 4N Cardiac Telemetry
**Job Description:**
- **Location**: Kansas City, MO

- **Shift**: 7P - 7A
- **Number of Beds**: 29
- **Patient Ratios**: 1:4
**Unit Highlights:**
- Work alongside a dedicated team including Charge Nurses, Unit Secretaries, and PCTs.
- Utilize advanced equipment:
- Alaris IV Pumps
- SCD machines
- Hill Rom beds
- Dinamap in each room
- Welch Allen Vital Machines
- Wound Vacs
- Temporary Pacemakers
- Telemetry monitors
- EKG Machines
- Bladder Scanners
- Dopplers
- Imobile for enhanced team communication
**Scheduling & Policies:**
- Full-time hours required, including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period.
- Flexible floating policy for contract nurses to areas where competency is demonstrated.
- Focus on Patient Experience:
- Treat all patients with courtesy and respect.
- Responsiveness to call lights using patients’ preferred names.
- Involve patients in bedside shift reports.
- Teach patients how to communicate directly with nurses.
**Required Skills:**
- Must have experience in Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU.
- Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips.
- Advanced skills required:
- Post cardiac procedural care (Ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post Op Day 1 Open Heart, permanent Pacemaker placements).
- Administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone.
- Essential procedures on the unit:
- IV insertions
- NGT placement and maintenance
- Chest Tube maintenance
- Temporary Pacemakers
- Foley insertions
**Certifications Needed:**
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIHSS
**Dress Code:**
- Navy Blue scrubs required (Black scrub pants permissible with Navy Blue top).
